“After graduating, I’ll be heading to Swinburne University in Australia to study Computer Science with a focus on Cybersecurity,” Sovanpanha says. His goal is to return to Cambodia after completing his studies, aiming to become a cybersecurity specialist for a major firm, such as a bank, where he can help safeguard digital platforms and IT infrastructure. “I am enthusiastic about cybersecurity because it protects our digital platforms and IT infrastructure,” he shares, demonstrating his deep commitment to securing the growing digital landscape.
Reflecting on how his education at CIA FIRST has shaped his path, Sovanpanha credits the school’s rigorous curriculum and supportive environment. “CIA FIRST helped prepare me for college entrance at Swinburne University. The integrity of the curriculum stood out to me; it is recognized worldwide and provides a high standard of education,” he explains. Sovanpanha feels confident that his studies—particularly in physics, computer studies, and English—have equipped him with the academic skills needed for success at university and beyond. Additionally, he appreciates the university counseling offered at CIA FIRST, which helped him navigate the selection process and make an informed decision about his future.
Sovanpanha’s favorite quote, “Your time in high school is not just about grades, but about discovering who you are and how you can make a difference in the world,” encapsulates his philosophy on education and personal growth. It reflects his belief that high school is not solely about academic achievement, but also about developing the skills and mindset needed to make a meaningful impact.
As an early graduate from CIA FIRST Chbar Ampov, Sovanpanha’s journey exemplifies how education can shape future careers and aspirations. With his sights set on a cybersecurity career, he is determined to make a difference by returning to Cambodia to protect the country’s digital future.
